You may or may not already know, but Google now owns Feedburner. After it purchased Feedburner, Google decided to scrap Feedburner’s existing AdSense RSS feed system and setup its own. Thus, everyone with a AdSense account can now easily monetize their feed without going through a third party such as Feedburner. I’m pleased with this change as it simplifies things for me. I can manage both my regular AdSense ads as well my RSS feed ads in one location.
At present if you either burn a new feed through Google or you can migrate your Feedburner account. The only downside is that at the moment there is no automated way to migrate your account from Feedburner to Google. Things for now are done manually, but I anticipate that a bit later on Google will automate the process.
Migrating to a Google Account in order to use AdSense for feeds
Here is what google has to say in regards to this:
Google will soon provide a self-service process to migrate from an account on the original FeedBurner website to a Google Account. Currently, migrating your feeds from from FeedBurner to a Google account is a manual process. We will assist you directly to ensure a successful migration. The only way you can use AdSense for feeds is through your Google Account.
To migrate all of your feeds, and your account from feeds.feedburner.com to Google, please use this contact form.
We will migrate your account and contact you with specific steps for you to follow once migration is complete.
(If you have already submitted a migration request, please look for an email response from Google once your migration has completed).
