I regred to inform all you e-currency fans that Crowne Gold is winding down its operations and closing down. A while back I made a post on this blog regarding some financial and legal issues they were having, and it appears that since then the situation only got worse. I first found out about Crowne Gold shutting down thanks to one of my readers who posted a comment with an excerpt from an e-mail he received from Crowne Gold. It wasn’t positive; let’s just put it that way. Here is what that e-mail said:
2008-08-01 – NOTICE TO ALL CLIENTS:
Crowne Gold is winding down its business and is no longer accepting new accounts or inbound deposits. Crowne staff will be working diligently with every client to ensure an orderly account closure. To contact Crowne, please dial: 775-841-3573. This front office will take a message and pass it along to the staff member responsible for working with you on your account. Crowne will make its best efforts to respond within 48 hours to every accounts initial message.
Furthermore:
2008-08-16 – PLEASE NOTE – Closing Accounts:
Due to the high volume of calls and e-mails to Customer Service & Support staff regarding the closing of accounts we are running behind in returning calls and e-mail messages. Please be patient as all calls will be returned and we will respond to all e-mail inquiries.
It can’t get any worse than this, can it? Just you wait! Very recently I find out that Crowne Gold is involved in a legal battle with a former business partner – for lack of a better term. Checkout this link for more details:

I am a little bit late in reporting this, but out of respect for the Crowne Gold crew I decided it would be best to wait a little bit in order to give them some time to resolve their problems. I think enough time has passed and that at this point the “masses” should be made aware. It’s really sad that things had to come to this, but things are as they are. At this point I urge all Crowne God users not to panick. I’m sure Crowne Gold staff will take care of things in a timely manner. Let’s all hope for the best.
To the Crowne Gold staff: Thanks for all you’ve done for the e-currency/precious metals investor community! I for one wish you all the best in all future endeavors.
Cheers,
Alan
