Benson posting on Mark’s Digital Money World Blog reports that Liberty Reserve is being victimized by a distributed denial-of-service attack. So what you may say, that happens all the time on the net. Well, true enough, but what is interesting is that the attackers are claiming that one of Liberty Reserve’s competitors, v-money, paid them to conduct this attack. Here is the e-mail which purportedly comes from these attackers:
(patrkell@fastem.com) wrote:Hello, We are an anonymous hacking group, we have received a payment form a company named v-money, to DDoS your website and destroy your business, v-money have sent a payment for 7000 $ for the ddos service, if you desire for 8000 $ we stop this attack, e-gold only accepted, today our hackers team start with the ddos in a intermittent way, if we not receive a positive answer and e-gold payment today the attack will be increased, on time to time basis.
I really wonder if v-money could really stoop to such lowlife attacks. If they can’t compete fairly with other digital currencies than they should find some other business to be in – like basket weaving. Seriously though, I hope more info comes out and I do hope v-money is vindicated.
You are all invited to discuss this issue and v-money in general on this blog’s forum by following this link (dedicated to v-money):
